Our Vision:

The Perth Amboy District Diversity Council will be a community of teachers and learners committed to promoting diversity where all individuals are valued and celebrated within a climate of kindness, acceptance and respect.


Our Mission Statement:

The Perth Amboy District Diversity Committee will ensure that an atmosphere of acceptance and respect is cultivated throughout the district and school community.


Our Goals:

The goals of the District Diversity Council are:

To oversee the development of activities that address diversity in the individual schools for staff, students and parents;

To serve as a support system to the individual schools as they establish and continue to develop a culture of respect for all; and,

To recognize district schools and individual students who have demonstrated outstanding contributions in the area of diversity.


Our Objectives:

--To better utilize the Kean University Diversity Council to meet the needs of Perth Amboy staff, students and parents.

--To share ideas and information among schools in the district regarding:
   Character Education
   Anti-Bullying Programs
   Affirmative Action
   Multiculturalism
   Prejudice Reduction
   Positive Behavioral Strategies
   Student self image
   Student Attendance

--To collaborate with Community Outreach Programs that promote diversity.

--To provide professional development for staff and parents that promotes greater sensitivity to the diversity of our community.

--To reward students who show outstanding contributions in the area of diversity.
