Mrs. Cafferty is a Certified Mathematics Teacher who began her teaching career in 2005. She began in Paterson, NJ teaching grades 6th, 7th, and 8th grade math at BUILD Academy. Next, she taught adult high school math classes for Monmouth County Vocational School District, while simultaneously working as an Adjunct Professor at Brookdale Community College. Her employment at Samuel E. Shull School began September 1, 2012. She currently teaches 6th Grade Mathematics and the 6th Grade AVID Elective.
Mrs. Cafferty is a trained AVID Educator in using AVID Strategies in the Mathematics Classroom, as well as Middle School Implementation. She is also a trained AVID Staff Developer who runs building level and district level Professional Development for Perth Amboy staff in addition to running Professional Development for AVID Center during Summer Institutes and Path to Schoolwide Trainings. Mrs. Cafferty also helps develop STEM lessons and professional development for AVID Center.
Mrs. Cafferty holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science with minors in Drama/Theatre and Computer Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. She also holds a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, with a concentration in Medical Instrumentation Design and Digital Signal Processing from New Jersey Institute of Technology.
