Mission Statement

The mission of the Special Education Department is to identify and provide the necessary supports, services, and specially designed instruction for individual students to access education using strength-based approaches. Our mission includes fostering and supporting learning environments and practices that remove obstacles to student learning, ensuring a meaningful educational benefit for diverse learners.

Vision Statement

Our vision is to create an inclusive educational community where every student’s unique strengths are recognized and nurtured, allowing them to achieve their full potential in a supportive and barrier-free environment.

Access to Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Progress Reports

Parents of students with disabilities can view their child's last finalized IEP and progress reports at the end of each marking period through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. For detailed instructions, please follow the steps provided here.

Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG)

Let's discover the power of collaboration in student achievement!  Please review our Special Education Parent Advisory Group (SEPAG) flyer for general information about this important group for parents of students with disabilities.  We warmly invite your participation and leadership in this group in order to improve special education services.

Child Find Services

Families concerned about their child's development (ages three to five) can visit the Child Find website for information on available community services. This site helps the Perth Amboy School District identify unserved children needing special education and related services from ages three to twenty-one.

For any questions regarding the evaluation process, please contact us.
