"Teaching is the greatest act of optimism," Colleen Wilcox once said. All students are capable of learning, but it requires active participation. Students must be more than just present and participate in their learning. Students, parents/guardians and teachers all have equal parts in the learning equation. I support students' academic, social and emotional growth, building on their strengths to achieve more. My students thrive in an engaging student-centered work environment where everyone is respected, supported and challenged.
Mutual respect is paramount in our classroom, where ALL students contribute to a welcoming, safe work environment where diversity is celebrated. Developing good work ethics and setting priorities are necessary goals for our students to be successful today as well as in the future. We are building a foundation from which all things will come. Keeping a positive attitude by shifting our mindset can make all the difference when faced with life's challenges. Remember, "If you believe you can, you will!"
