All Students are Capable of Achieving High Levels

Beliefs
     
The PAPS Code of Student Conduct is based on the following beliefs about children, learning, and behavior:

1. All students are capable of achieving high levels of success with the proper guidance and support.
   
   
2. Each student is unique and each student may need differentiated attention and supports to help them achieve at high levels, succeed academically, and behave responsibly.
   
   
3. Behavioral Responses and Behavioral Supports enable students to self-regulate, self-reflect, problem solve, make amends, learn new behaviors, and restore their good standing.
   
   
4. Effective Behavior Management occurs when the teacher and student interact together, talk to each other build rapport and develop trust. When this happens, most problems can be solved within the classroom.
   
   
5. Parents/Guardians are partners with the school and will be made aware of issues in need of resolution when appropriate and are encouraged to share any situations that may affect a child’s behavior or general academic performance.

El Código de Conducta del Alumno de PAPS se basa en las siguientes creencias acerca de los niños, del aprendizaje y del comportamiento:

1. Todos los alumnos son capaces de alcanzar niveles elevados de éxito si reciben la orientación y el apoyo adecuados.
   
   
2. Cada alumno es único y cada alumno podría necesitar atención y apoyo personalizados, lo cual los ayudará a alcanzar niveles elevados, lograr el éxito académico y comportarse de manera responsable.
   
   
3. Las respuestas de comportamiento y el apoyo conductual les permite a los alumnos autocontrolarse, autorreflexionar, resolver problemas, hacer las paces, aprender nuevos comportamientos y volver a tener buena reputación.
   
   
4. El manejo eficaz del comportamiento se produce cuando el maestro y el alumno interactúan, conversan, construyen una buena relación y mejoran la confianza. Cuando esto sucede, la mayoría de los problemas pueden resolverse dentro del salón de clase.
   
   
5. Los padres o tutores son agentes colaboradores de la escuela y serán notificados acerca de los problemas que requieran solución cuando sea conveniente. Además, se los alienta a compartir cualquier situación que pudiera afectar el comportamiento o el desempeño académico general del niño.
