Week of Respect

Throughout New Jersey each year, Week of Respect is celebrated in October. Working to target different forms of respect, the daily activities focused on community, peers, and self. Overall, our aim was to improve the school climate and show our students the various ways they can easily practice respect in their everyday lives.

Specifically, students were in charge of: communicating how they, ‘stomp out bullying’ on footprint cutouts, draft personal ‘football’ goals for themselves, participating in a food drive for a local food pantry, and writing words of kindness to community leaders such as firefighters, police, teachers, etc. which were distributed to appropriate individuals or groups.
