From February 11 through February 13th, the Freshman Academy made visits to tour the Main Campus and gain exposure to and knowledge of the various opportunities available to them. The focus of the campus tours, led by upperclassmen JROTC cadets, were the amazing facilities we have to offer in our Communications Academy and the Health & Sciences Academy. Students were shown the TV Studio, Journalism Labs, Room 100 where Health & Sciences courses take place, and several more locations with ten stops in total.
After lunch, Freshman were treated to a Club Fair where they could sign up for and learn more about Main Campus student clubs. The current students leaders of the clubs engaged these future leaders! To conclude the day, Main Campus administration set expectations and provided further information regarding the Academies and scheduling for next year.
With all this, in addition to lessons that had been taught in a variety of classes pertaining to the Academies, on February 14th students applied for their future path at Main Campus. Teachers, guidance counselors, and administrators assisted the student in responding to prompts that will help the acceptance committees determine placement. Students will eagerly await to know which opportunities will be the focus of their remaining three years as Perth Amboy Panthers.
