Scroll through this page to see how our students celebrated and recognized the contributions of Hispanic Americans in our city, nation, and the world.
During Hispanic Heritage Month, each week teachers and students had a choice to pick a Latin American country to explore and honor their traditions and culture through art. For example, students created Guatemalan Kites using paper plates, tissue paper, paint, and streamers.
In Elementary music classes, students practiced and performed rhythms, discussed cultural dances, and performed a salsa. Students also practiced and performed the rhythms of various cultural dances. They self evaluated their performance and added instruments as well. Click the link below to view students exploring the artistic process.
