Description:

The summer school program for students in grades K-5 is intended to mitigate learning loss by providing additional instruction in literacy and math skills. The curriculum will focus on early literacy skills through the teaching of phonological awareness, letter sound correspondence, sight words, and comprehension. In addition, the program will have a math component that will address K-5 math computation skills, math fluency, and math critical thinking. The K-5 Summer Program will also infuse the visual and performing arts via art and music lessons, physical education classes, and technology classes. Fifty minutes of instruction will be dedicated to reading and math instruction, respectively. The program will help students advance in the core academic areas while they have FUN!

The program will serve approximately 300 students.
