Congratulations to our new NHS Inductees!
On Tuesday, January 24, 2023, the Perth Amboy High School Chapter of the National Honor Society officially inducted 84 new members. These young people applied for membership and then were chosen by a Faculty Council based on their demonstration of the National Honor Society’s four pillars: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service. During the ceremony, four chapter officers lit a candle and spoke candidly about the importance of the four pillars in our school and larger community. Following the opening remarks by the principal, Ms. Melissa Espana and the welcome address by the NHS advisor, Mrs. Heather Renaud, each inductee was called up one at a time to collect their certificate of membership, recite the national oath, and then honor their chosen “honored educators.”
“A sign of a good leader is not how many followers you have, but how many leaders you create.” To our new members, you are the best and brightest and you have made us incredibly proud. We have no doubt that you will continue to uphold our four pillars: Scholarship, Character, Leadership, and Service and carry on the legacy of the National Honor Society with you as you continue to go after what you want in life.
