Hello, my name is Mrs. Maria Gouveia.

 

I have been teaching at Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood Center since 2004.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Kean University.

I have been honored to receive the Governor's Educator of the Year Award in 2016-2017.

 

I believe every child is unique in their own way. 

In my classroom, we give everyone an opportunity to shine and be themselves!

 

I encourage children to work with others as a team and to explore new things.

To build and work together and to learn something new.

I encourage children to communicate their needs.

 

 

I am very excited about this new school year!

I look forward to meeting all the new students and parents.

 

 

I work with two paraprofessionals, Ms. Rosa N. and Ms. Teresa J.

Together we believe that parent support and communication helps to build a strong learning foundation for our children.
