Hello!
My name is Ms. Meehan and I am thrilled to be your child's art teacher this year. I graduated from Rutgers University where I studied Fine Arts and Art History, and completed my masters degree at Monmouth University in Art Education. Alongside teaching, I retain a professional painting practice. I am overjoyed to be a part of your child's education and to guide your young artist to reach their unique creative potential!
Studio Talk!
In our art studio, your child will learn to look, think, create, and talk like an artist.
Our main goal for the first few weeks of school is to help transform the art studio into your child's second home, a place where they can feel safe to express themselves in their unique way. After getting accustomed to the studio environment and getting to know each other, we will dive right into exploring the elements and principles of art, learn about famous artists, and try new and exciting art techniques in 2D and 3D!
I look forward to working with your child, and I am always impressed and amazed to see how students grow, change and create over the course of a school year. I hope you always feel welcome in the art studio and that you enjoy all the masterpieces that the 2022-2023 school year will bring!
