Welcome to James J. Flynn School!
My name is Ms. Carolina Benitez, and I am excited to be part of the James J. Flynn School community! I am a Perth Amboy native and loved the education that I received from my hometown which helped me fulfill my dream to become a teacher and give back to my community. I acquired my Bachelor's Degree from Rutgers University, and became an English teacher at the Perth Amboy High School servicing grades 9-12 as well as adults as an ESL instructor at the Saturday Morning Program at Edward J. Patten School. In 2014, I obtained my Master's degree in School Counseling and worked as a Bilingual School Counselor at the Perth Amboy High School. As a first-generation high school and college graduate, I value education, and strive to provide adequate services to promote emotional, social, and academic well-being to our students.
I truly believe that education is th etool that guides one to succeed in life, whether this is a college education or a technical training education, educating oneself ensures success! It is with this mentality and the experience that I acquired as a secondary education teacher and school counselor that I come to serve the children of Flynn School and gear them to start thinking about their post-secondary plans! It is never too early to expose children to post-secondary options, and studies have found that starting as young as pre-school sets the stepping stone to help students thrive for academic success.
I am looking forward to working with your children, and please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns.
