• Curriculum

     The comprehensive basic school curriculum at the James J. Flynn School is aligned to the New Jersey State Learning Standards (NJSLS) and includes Language Arts Literacy (Reading, Literature, Grammar, Writing, Spelling, and Penmanship), Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, Physical Education, Health (Drugs/Alcohol, Family Living, and Safety), Library/Study Skills, Bilingual Education, English as a Second Language (ESL), Special Education, and Technology. The students are exposed to a variety of strategies and techniques designed to differentiate the instruction and enhance the learning experience.

Flynn School include the following: Comer School Development, School Leadership Council (SLC), Gifted and Talented programs, Child Assault Prevention (CAP), Family Fitness, Family Literacy, Family Math, PTO Family Fun Nights, Holiday Show, Spring Play, Six Flags Six Hour Reading Program, Intervention and Related Services (I & RS), Media Specialist, Reading Specialists, Child Study Team, Guidance Counselor, Nurse, Speech Language Therapists, Crisis Counselor, and Home/School/Community Liaison.
