Principal's Corner

  • We are excited to welcome back many familiar families, as well as greet our newest arrivals, to our Anthony V. Ceres Elementary School community.  As the new principal, I have been able to see firsthand that our school’s commitment to excellence is embodied in our students, teachers, parents, and community members.

I am a veteran Perth Amboy educator of 14 years serving in many capacities such as a teacher, district curriculum supervisor, and vice principal.  In reflecting upon my own educational experiences as both a student and professional, I believe that educators are charged with the goals of setting high expectations for ourselves, our students, and colleagues, while establishing a strong sense of respect and rapport with each stakeholder.

During my first year as principal, I will be working with our leadership team to enhance communication with our families and community partners, as well as beginning the work of establishing a shared vision of educational excellence for our elementary students.  By working together, we will set our students on the path towards high school graduation, sustained success in college and the workforce, and ultimately a love of learning.  We encourage our parents and families to become active contributors to our school community in various ways including membership to our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), as well as attendance at school events and activities.

If I can ever be assistance to either you or your family, please feel free to contact me at 732.376.6020 or via email at derrkyriacou@paps.net.

    Yours in Education,

    Derrick C. Kyriacou
    Principal
