The greatest thing about exercise, it can be easily perfomed anywhere, with anything at anytime as long as you have the drive to do it.
A fun game I call Math-ercise!!
Materials: all you need is a deck of playing cards, just remove the joker cards and use the K,J,Q and Ace as a 15 count, and/or Dice.
W.A.L.T- use cards and/or dice to add or subtract while performing indoor exercises.
Exercises Examples: squats, planks, mountain climbers, jog in place, high knees, curl ups, sit ups, push ups, jumping jacks, toe touches, windmill toe touch, up downs, and lunges
These exercises most of our students know how to perform as they have been used in classes before.
Instructions: Draw two cards and either ADD or SUBTRACT (this will depend on your childs grade level)
roll one Di or two dice- ADD or SUBTRACT (once again age appropriate to your childs needs)
The SUM is how many exercises they perform. You can set a timer and have kids perform the exercise for 1 minute, after each exercise is completed they get to roll the DI/Dice, or draw two more cards to ADD or SUBTRACT again to perform more exercises. When the time is up switch to a different exercise.
Other ways to keep kids active at home.
SOLO cup basketball anyone?
Materials: Use aluminum foil and roll it into a small ball.
W.A.L.T: Play a game of mini SOLO cup basketball to practice our shootng skill and addition.
Instructions: line up solo cups or any plastic cup in different areas at different distances.
You can write numbers on each cup to get more competitive to gain points.
Each basket made you get to keep the cup, and add your points at the end.
