Hello Hmieleski Famiies,
Welcome to the 2025/2026 school year! My name is Maureen Bontempo, and I am one of the Special Education Teachers here at Edmund Hmieleski. Just a little about myself: I was recognized as support staff of the year for the 2024/2025 school year and have been a Perth Amboy district employee since September 2014. I currently hold three New Jersey Teaching Certifications: Teacher of Students with Disabilities, Preschool through Grade 3, and Elementary K-6. My highest level of education is a Master’s Degree from Monmouth University. My favorite motto is learn to play; play to learn. Once children learn to play, their little minds grow in so many ways. I look forward to singing, dancing, laughing, and exploring with your children. I will be working closely with your child's classroom teacher to provide individualized instruction, enrich the classroom environment, and to provide classroom support. ¡Bienvenidos al año escolar 2025/2026! Me llamo Maureen Bontempo y soy una de las maestras de educación especial de Edmund Hmieleski. Un poco sobre mí: Fui reconocida como personal de apoyo del año en el año escolar 2024/2025 y he sido empleada del distrito de Perth Amboy desde septiembre de 2014. Actualmente cuento con tres certificaciones docentes de Nueva Jersey: maestra de estudiantes con discapacidades, de preescolar a tercer grado y de primaria de kínder a sexto grado. Mi nivel de estudios más alto es una maestría de la Universidad de Monmouth. Mi lema favorito es aprender a jugar; jugar para aprender. Una vez que los niños aprenden a jugar, sus mentes se desarrollan de muchas maneras. Espero con ansias cantar, bailar, reír y explorar con sus hijos. Trabajaré estrechamente con el maestro de su hijo para brindar instrucción individualizada, enriquecer el ambiente del aula y brindar apoyo. No duden en contactarme en cualquier momento.
