My name is Ms. Johanna Roman and I am a Perth Amboy Preschool Instructional Coach. This is my eighth year in Perth Amboy, and I am very excited to be part of this amazing school district. I have been in the education field for the past 15 years and look forward to many more. I gained my bachelor's degree in ESL Education from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. I continued to gain a Preschool through Third grade certification and a Master degree in Instruction and Curriculum in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Kean University. During the 2021-2022 school year, I was honored to receive the NJ Governor's Educational Services of the Year Award at Edmund Hmieleski Jr. ECC. 

As a Preschool Instructional Coach, it is my job to provide and maintain high levels of quality by helping and supporting our teaching staff by visiting classrooms and providing feedback while using the reflective cycle. I work in collaboration with our Early Childhood Supervisor, Administrators and PIC team to provide professional development that aligns with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, Perth Amboy district goals, The Creative Curriculum, Professional Development Plans and classroom quality assessment data.

My philosophy is that children have the ability to succeed academically and socially during their first school years. It is my honor to work along with the teaching staff to provide guidance and support, ensuring that we provide our students with the necessary tools for them to succeed and have the most memorable preschool experience.
