I am one of the Preschool Instructional Coaches here at Hmieleski! 

 

Our job as coaches is to provide and maintain high levels of quality by helping and supporting our teaching staff!  We do this by visiting classrooms and  providing feedback while using the reflective cycle.

 

We work together with our Early Childhood Supervisor, Administrators and PIC team to provide professional development that aligns with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards, Perth Amboy district goals, The Creative Curriculum, Professional Development Plans and classroom quality assessment data.

 

We administer the Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale-Third Edition (ECERS-3) to measure quality practices in the classroom.  In addition, our assessments can include Supports for Early Literacy (SELA) and the Preschool Mathematics Inventory (PCMI).

 

Finally, we work with the Preschool Intervention and Referral Specialist (PIRS) and Community Parent Involvement Specialist (CPIS) when needed to assist with support and transitional activities before leaving the preschool classroom.
