Welcome to Class 104

My  name is Maritza Ortega, the students call me Mrs. Ortega

I worked for 11 years as a preschool and pre-k paraprofessional in Union City and for 2 years in West New York, NJ. That motivated me to go to Kean University and later to Monclair State University for the Early Childhood Certificate. I began working as a preschool teacher in 2017 in Paterson, NJ. In 2022, I started working at Edmund Hmieleski ECC, being part of this great working team in the Dual Language program as a preschool teacher. I feel enormously proud to be part of this program in which I teach Spanish to this young generation who will be our future professionals and leaders. 

My paraprofessional for all of these years is Mrs. Yomara  Arias, the students call her Mrs. Arias. She has worked at this school for many years, and I was blessed to work with her. Our English teacher's partner from class 106 is Mrs. Jennifer Galioto Cherubini, and her paraprofessional is Noemi Thompson. Students will be in her class every other week.  It is a pleasure to be your children's teacher during this school year, where all of them are going to have a fun preschool and pre-k educational experience.
