Freshman Academy Media Center - Makerspace Equipment
“A makerspace is a collaborative work space inside a school, library or separate public/private facility for making, learning, exploring and sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools.” We are happy to say that we have a makerspace area available for student use. These are some of the items we have available:
In the Freshman Academy Makerspace, students have access to a variety of games and building supplies (Legos, K'nex, Marble Runs) and Design supplies (craft supplies, duct tape, oragami, spirograph, clay)
MAKEY-MAKEY - Invention kit that allows students to code by connecting everyday objects. (Sample video) Quantity Available - 2
Sphero Bolt & RVR - A small robot that involves coding. 15 Spheros and 1 RVR available
3D Printer - Makerbot - students can design an object in Tynker CAD or Blocks CAD
