Ms. McGrath

 Hello! My name is Melanie McGrath and I have been teaching in Perth Amboy since November 2022. My students call me Ms. Melanie. I am an in-classroom support teacher (special education) at Ignacio Cruz Early Childhood Center. I graduated from Rowan University in May 2022 with my Bachelor's degree in Inclusive Early Childhood Education. It has always been a dream of mine to work in the special education field. I am certified to teach preschool through third grade and have a certificate in special education. I work collaboratively in many classrooms with each general education teacher and the paraprofessionals. I ensure that all of the students' learning needs are met if they are a special education student or not. I modify materials, create many visuals, do feeding (if the student needs assistance to eat), work individually and in small groups with the students, and most importantly ensure the safety of all the students. Working with children brings me a lot of joy and I will always advocate for any child.
