Project Number 1: PICK A Country!
*Give it a name!
*Draw a map of it.
-What’s the capitol? Label it!
-Are there any mountains, rivers, lakes, or other landforms or bodies of water? Label them!
*Give your country symbols.
-a national bird.
-a national flower.
-a national tree.
-a national animal.
*Draw the flag of your country.
-Tell about it. What do the colors and symbols represent?
*What are some laws of your country?
-Provide at least 10 specific laws.
*What type of government is it?
-Define the form you chose and tell why you chose it.
*Tell a story about your country.
-How was it discovered?
-Who discovered it?
-When was it discovered?
*Put all of this together on one side of a large piece of poster paper so it can be presented and displayed on the wall. Please do NOT use cardboard or a presentation board because it will be too heavy to hang up!
*Written Presentation: Be prepared to give a presentation of your project in front of our class and another class! For this, you need to write out what you want to say on either note cards or a piece of paper. Next, you need to practice reading it in front of the mirror, to your family, your stuffed animals, or anyone else. Your presentation is part of your project and needs to be handed in with your poster!
*Your completed project is due on ...............................! Do NOT leave this until the last minute!!!! Work on it part by part because it will take a long time! I want these to be truly “gifted and talented” projects, so don’t try to throw it together at the last minute! Do some research using the library and the internet to find information and ideas, and of course, use your imagination!!!!
Good luck!
