Preschool students learn best through play and what interests them. We are going to learn so many new things together this year as we investigate our studies. Children get a deeper understanding of a subject when they can make connections across several content study areas.  Concepts of math, literacy, social emotional, language, and science will be implemented throughout all our studies. Please check your child’s backpack daily to look into his/her communication folder, which includes what we have been doing as well as things that are coming. When returning the folder, feel free to include a note to the teacher.

The importance of studies is to allow children to deeply engage with learning through investigations that are relevant to their lives and interests, and building confidence as they discover new information through play. When your child comes home from school, ask him/her what they are learning about. Ask your child about their day at school with open-ended questions like, "What was the best part of your day?" Have a conversation with your child about what you know about the topic.
