• toy    I graduated from Slippery Rock University with a BSED in Elementary and Special Education.  I began teaching in the Perth Amboy School District 27 years ago My career began at the William C. McGinnis School as a 7th & 8th grade self-contained Developmental Studies teacher.  It was then that I decided to pursue a master's degree in English as a Second Language through Kean University.  I then moved into a 7th & 8th grade Developmental Studies class specializing in mathematics & science.  Once again, I decided to pursue a master's degree, this time in Mathematics through Fairleigh Dickinson University.  Upon receiving my degree, I was offered a Math Specialist position here at the Samuel E. Shull School. In this position, I collaborated with teachers to create lessons that integrated new technology. I then worked with grades 5-8 math students who were in need of strategic intervention through a class called PARCC Connections. Most recently, I asked to go back into the classroom to teach 8th grade math (my true passion). In 2019 I was recognized by my administration and fellow colleagues, and wonTeacher of the Year! I am currently teaching both Algebra 1 and Math 8.
