Mrs. Angela Oliveira Rua

I was born and raised in Newark, NJ.  I attended Kean University for my undergraduate and received a B.A. in Psychology.  In order to obtain my teaching certificate, I completed an alternate route program, shortly after graduating.  I also graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2016 with a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speaking Other Languages (TESOL). I began my teaching career in Newark, where I taught for fourteen years. I have taught primary grades, middle school ELA, and am currently teaching 5-8 SPED ESL here in Perth Amboy.  Being raised in a bilingual home, I know what it is like to start school and not understand what the teacher is saying.  Students who come to a new country have many obstacles that they have to overcome; language is one of them, being the bridge that helps close that gap is truly rewarding.
