The 21st Century After School Program at William C. McGinnis School provides a safe haven for all children that promote healthy minds and bodies through academic, recreational and cultural enrichment activities in collaboration with the support from families, the community and the Perth Amboy Board of Education.I serve as one of the programs Site Coordinators with two of my co-workers. My job is to make sure that the students are behaving and enjoy their time spent. The breakdown of the program is as followed. After school (2:40pm), the students are assigned to a classroom where they can do their homework, classwork, or projects with the help of a teacher. While the children are doing their homework they are given a snack and a juice. At around 3:40pm all of the students are gathered in one big group and separated into their enrichment activities. The enrichment activities provided are Athletics, Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Dance, Girls Club, and Marine Biology. The students are dismissed from the program around 5:30pm.
