Summer Programs 2024
-
The Perth Amboy Public School District is committed to providing students with opportunities to engage in learning during the summer. We know that learning loss inevitably occurs each year for several reasons. Therefore, the district has put together summer programs intended to mitigate learning loss by engaging students in summer academic and enrichment offerings that focus primarily on developing and reinforcing reading and math skills in grades PreK-8. In grades 9-12, the district will offer a Credit Recovery Summer School Program allowing students to make up courses required for graduation. The district will also offer an Extended School Year (ESY) program for qualifying students with disabilities to prevent significant regression and assist students in maintaining their academic, social/behavioral, and communication skills attained throughout the school year as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Similarly, the district will also provide a summer program for students who are Multilingual Learners and Dual Language Learners. Lastly, the district has identified enrichment programs for students in grades K-8 who will participate in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) related enriching programs and a Theater Summer Program that will further promote creativity and engagement among all participating students. If you have any questions about our in-district summer programs, please reach out to your school principal.
