School Counselors provide guidance and counseling in the areas of social/personal, educational and career development at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Student Assistance Counselors (SAC’s) at the middle and high school level provide counseling to students who are at risk or affected by drug and/or alcohol abuse.
 
 
 
Department Mission Statement: 

The Perth Amboy School District School Counseling and Related Services Program maximizes and supports student achievement through a comprehensive and developmentally appropriate program that addresses the academic, career and personal/social growth of ALL students.  In partnership with students, staff, parents/guardians and the community, school counselors assist ALL students in acquiring the competencies needed for college readiness and success in a global society.

 
 

Role of the School Counselor:
School counselors provide counseling in the following areas
