Summer Programs 2021

  • The Perth Amboy Public School District is committed to providing students with opportunities to engage in learning during the summer. We are aware that learning loss inevitably takes place each year due to several reasons and especially this school year that was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the district has put together summer programs intended to mitigate learning loss and the so-called “summer slide” by engaging students in summer offerings that focus primarily on the development and reinforcement of reading and math skills in grades PreK-8. In grades 9-12, the district will offer a remote Credit Recovery Summer School program that will allow students to make up courses required for graduation. The district will also offer an Extended School Year (ESY) program for qualifying special education students in an effort to prevent significant regression and assist students in maintaining their academic, social/behavioral, and communication skills attained throughout the school year as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). Similarly, the district will also provide a summer program for students who are English Language Learners and Dual Language learners.

Below is a summary of the summer programs that will be available for students in grades PreK-12.
