Title III SLIFE Summer Program for English Language Learners

Dates: July 6 - July 29, 2022

Time: 8:00 am - 12:30 pm 

Locations: 3-5 at Dr. Herbert N. Richardson Elementary School  and 5-8 at Samuel E. Shull Middle School 

Curriculum Focus: Language Arts Literacy and Math basic skills

Program is only open to English Learners (EL) in levels 1 and 2 who have limited or interrupted schooling.

Due to the current global pandemic and other political/social conditions, we are encountering a significant rise in newly arrived students with limited or interrupted education (SLIFE). These students need immediate attention to their academics and socio emotional learning to help them transition to a new culture and academic setting. The emphasis will be on foundational literacy skills and math skills in students’ native language.

Students will be identified based on teacher recommendation, arrival date, and academic history. Transportation will be provided only to students who qualify.
