Title I Dual Language Summer Program

Dates: July 6 - July 29, 2022

Time: 8:00 am - 12:30 pm 

Locations: K-4 at Dr. Herbert N. Richardson Elementary School and 5-8 at Samuel E. Shull Middle School

Curriculum Focus: Language Arts Literacy, and Math basic skills.This program will be conducted and delivered through a two-way immersion (50% of the time in English and 50% of the time in Spanish)

Program is only open to English Dominant and Spanish Dominant dual students who are in need of academic support.

The Perth Amboy Public School District has created a dual language immersion program that begins in preschool and continues through eighth grade. This research-based program fosters bilingualism and biliteracy, as students develop academic and linguistic skills in both English and Spanish. The Dual Language Program has expanded to include approximately 1,200 students. The summer program will allow students to further improve their biliteracy skills in reading and math.

Students will be identified based on  student performance data and teacher recommendation. Transportation will be provided only to students who qualify.
