Middle School Summer Intervention Program

Dates: July 6 - 29, 2022

Times: 8:30 am - 12:00 pm

Location: Samuel E. Shull Middle School and William C. McGinnis Middle School

Curriculum Focus: Math, Social Studies, Science and English Language Arts. 

Program will be open for Gen. Ed. and Bilingual Students (Level 3)

Student Selection Criteria: Students who are failing Math, Social Studies, Science, and/or Language Arts

William C. McGinnis and Samuel E. Shull Middle Schools will host an in-person summer intervention program for students in grades 5-8 for the three Middle Schools (DLS, McGinnis, and Shull). Students will be identified based on their overall academic performance from the 21-22 school year. Based on data, students will be enrolled in an Language Arts/Social Studies and/or Math/Science block that runs for approximately 90 minutes five days a week. The program will last for 4 weeks from July 6 - July 29, 2022. Students will be provided with meaningful instruction and learning activities aligned to the grade-level standards and curriculum. The ultimate goal is to provide students with the necessary grade-level skills and concepts in order to prepare them for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year.
