Governor's Educator of the Year Program

The New Jersey Teacher of the Year Program and the Governor's Teacher/Educational Services Professionals Recognition Program have both been integrated into the Governor's Educator of the Year Program. This updated program highlights educational innovation, student achievement, the rewards of teaching, and important services outside the classroom environment that lead to student success.

The Perth Amboy Public Schools follow the NJDOE guidelines and timelines to select a school recipient of the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program. However, due to the fact that some of our schools are composed of one or more satellite buildings, in-district procedures have been put in place to ensure fairness in the process. Only one teacher and one educational services professional per building can be selected as the Educator of the Year. A panel of educators was created consisting of elementary, middle, and high school teachers as well as district administration to insure a fair selection through an interview process.

On Thursday, April 11, 2019, we celebrated and recognized our outstanding Governor’s Educators of the Year, along with staff, families and friends at our District Recognition Reception and Ceremony held during the Perth Amboy Board of Education Meeting.

Congratulations to the 2018 -2019 Governor’s Educators of the Year.
