Summer Reading Camp
The Perth Amboy Public Schools Summer Reading Camp is held at the Anthony V. Ceres Elementary School for students in Kindergarten, First, and Second grade. The program focuses on the development and reinforcement of reading skills through the teaching of phonological awareness, letter sound correspondence, and sight words.

Summer STEAM Camp
The 2019 Summer STEAM program will invite students in grades 3-8 for an interdisciplinary learning experience. Units will be developed collaboratively by the Supervisors of Educational Technology, VPAM, Science, and Math. There will be a culminating project/assessment that will be performance based. The program will be driven by analysis of the district data. Focus: student achievement in math. This program is open to to gifted and talented students in grades 3-5, advanced and honors students in grades 6-8, and identified math cusp students.

Transition to Kinder Summer Program
The 2019 Transition to Kindergarten Summer program will provide additional reading and math experiences for children in order to prepare for the transition to kindergarten. We will provide our children with engaging, hands on activities that will fill each day with fun learning experiences.The expected result is that our children, leaving our prechools, are more prepared for the learning activities upon entry into kindergarten.

Elementary Bilingual Summer School
The 2019 Title III Bilingual/ESL/Dual Language Summer School Program invites small groups of students in grades K-4 the opportunity to reinforce, review, and strengthen their academic and language skills in exciting, enriching and fun experiences. A thematic-based program encourages students to explore content and use language in meaningful and purposeful ways.

Special Services Elementary ESY (Extended School Year) Program
Extended School Year (ESY) services are designed to support a student with a disability as documented under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) to maintain the academic, social/behavioral, communication, or other skills that they have learned as part of their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

Middle School Bilingual Summer School
The 2019 Title III Bilingual/ESL Summer Summer Program invites groups of students in grades 5-8, the opportunity to reinforce, review, and strengthen their academic, language skills through a thematic-based approach. Students will engage with content and language in exciting, enriching and fun experiences.

Middle School Tier III Summer Program at Shull
Each year our district provides a Tier III Summer Program to students. The purpose of this program is to provide continuous access to education over the summer. This program is instrumental in improving students academic success. This directly relates to our goal of insuring that all students are college and career ready.

Title III High School Bilingual Summer Enrichment Program
Students in the Bilingual Program have the opportunity to continue to learn the English Language through hands on projects in Film, Math, Science and Technology. All participants will take enrichment classes 4 days per week and attend a field trip one day per week. Enrichment Program application and permission slip must be submitted to the Guidance Office.

Summer School Credit Recovery & Advanced Course
Advanced Math Courses are available for students that have an 85% or higher in their current math course and are recommended for Advanced Math for the summer.

NJROTC Summer Enrichment Program
NJROTC students continue their exposure to the ROTC curriculum throughout the summer.

Theatre Summer Camp
The Summer Theatre Enrichment Program will provide these students with the opportunity to work through the four artistic processes of Creating, Performing/Producing, Responding, and Connecting. Students in grades 3 - 9 will collaborate over the course of the 5-week program to produce a culminating musical that will be performed in front of an audience.
