The William C. McGinnis Middle School Staff, with the continued cooperation of parents, will help students develop an appreciation for excellence, education and leadership. We strive to provide a rigorous curriculum, aligned with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards and the New Jersey Common Core Standards, to ascertain that all children learn, as well as, a stimulating academic environment which students find both challenging and interesting. We nurture a sense of curiosity, connection, and love of learning that extends beyond the middle school years. This process will include skills for independent decision making, self esteem, self discipline, and responsibility for themselves, their school, environment and the world. Our efforts will result in students who understand and live the true meaning of the words RESPECT AND LEADERSHIP!
At the William C. McGinnis Middle School, our vision is that all students are active participants in their education and that with a differentiated curriculum, the support of administration, and the knowledge put forth by the staff, reinforcement from parents and ongoing participation from the community, every student has the ability to become a life-long learner and leader.
We also believe that the school environment is of the utmost importance and that a level of mutual respect is needed at all times. Interaction among students, teachers and administration should be mutually advantageous and should, at all times, reflect shared regard. As we believe that education is a continuous process at McGinnis School, we think that all staff members should model positive and respectful behaviors, building upon character educations, as well as, academics.
Our vision includes providing positive motivation and that through modeled behaviors; all students should feel a sense of value. We appreciate that higher expectations will bring forth higher results from the students and when students feel both valued and successful, school will become a place they want to be in instead of a place they have to be. With continued open lines of communication between students, staff, and community, we trust that the William C. McGinnis Middle School will be a place we all believe in.
