For VEX EXP Robotics, Advanced Robotics, and Digital Literacy classes, the course expectations are as follows:
VEX EXP Robotics:
1. Robotics Basics: Build and program robots using VEX EXP, learning foundational mechanical design and automation principles.
2. Introductory Programming: Learn to control robots using VEXcode, focusing on basic programming concepts like loops, conditions, and sensor use.
3. Teamwork: Collaborate on group projects, solving engineering challenges together.
4. Engineering Design: Follow the engineering process—design, build, test, and improve.
Advanced Robotics:
1. Complex Robotics Design: Engage in advanced robot-building, incorporating custom mechanisms and innovative designs.
2. Advanced Programming: Use VEXcode for complex programming, integrating sensors, autonomous control, and algorithms.
3. Leadership in Teams: Take on leadership roles in teams, guiding peers and managing projects.
4. Competition Focus: Prepare for competitive robotics events by fine-tuning designs and strategies for high-performance results.
Digital Literacy:
1. Technology Skills: Develop proficiency in digital tools such as Introduction to Digital Foundation & Informational Technology , Internet and Web Fundamentals, Multimedia, Content Creation, Design Website Creation using Google, presentation software, and online research.
2. Online Safety & Ethics: Understanding digital citizenship, focusing on online safety, privacy, and ethical use of technology.
3. Problem-Solving with Technology: Use digital tools to solve real-world problems and complete assignments.
4. Collaboration & Communication: Utilize digital platforms to collaborate on projects and communicate effectively.
In all classes, students will be assessed on participation, project execution, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities. Advanced Robotics students are expected to demonstrate leadership and innovation, while Digital Literacy students should show competence in using technology responsibly and effectively.
