Jeremiah Kleckner has taught English across multiple grade levels in the City of Perth Amboy since 2005. Throughout his career, Jeremiah has engaged in extensive staff development at all levels. His roles have included teacher mentor, cooperating teacher, Professional Learning Community (PLC) Leader, author of professional development materials, and presenter of sessions on process writing and educational technology. He was a founding member of the visionary PDA Team. Jeremiah’s efforts in teaching were recognized when he was named Samuel E. Shull School Teacher of the Year.

As an Athletic Coordinator, he co-designed the high school study hall program for student-athletes, which resulted in 92% of seniors who attended 80% or more of the study hall sessions retaining their eligibility and 88% of that same group earning honor roll for that quarter.

As a Middle School Wrestling Coach, he and his co-coaches shifted the 6th-8th grade team culture, resulting in a 72% drop in team discipline referrals and producing the district’s first tri-county medal-winner. In 2014, Jeremiah received a Positive Coaches Award from the Somerset Patriots, and in his final coaching season (2018-2019), the Perth Amboy middle school team won the Greater Middlesex County Tournament Championship

Outside of his work in Perth Amboy, Jeremiah served as a Board of Trustees Member at the Elysian Charter School of Hoboken from 2012-2014. During his tenure, he was Chair of the Academic Sub-Committee, Co-Chair of the Personnel Sub-Committee, and a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Jeremiah Kleckner has also been writing since 2012, authoring a dozen titles across the realistic fiction, sci-fi, and fantasy sub-genres. He is a member of the Science Fiction Association of Bergen County, the Writers of the Weird, and Jersey City Writers.
