Mr. Steven Lombardi

High School English Language Arts Teacher – Perth Amboy, NJ

Welcome! My name is Mr. Lombardi, and I am proud to serve as a High School English Language Arts teacher here in Perth Amboy. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in English and bring both a passion for literature and a dedication to student-centered learning into the classroom.

My teaching is grounded in the belief that education should challenge students to think critically, engage with diverse perspectives, and discover their own voices. Drawing from thinkers such as Socrates, Dewey, and Vygotsky, I encourage inquiry, collaboration, and real-world connections. My classroom blends the Socratic method of questioning with hands-on, experiential projects so students can actively construct meaning rather than passively receive it.

In English II CP and Science Fiction, students will explore timeless works of literature alongside modern texts, examining themes like identity, technology, society, and values. Through discussion, writing, and creative projects, they will strengthen their skills in analysis, argumentation, and communication.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading science fiction and fantasy, exploring nature, cooking, and discovering new perspectives through travel and the arts. I believe in modeling curiosity and lifelong learning for my students.
