Welcome to Perth Amboy High School - Freshman Academy!

Ninth grade is a time of excitement and expectations.  It is when young scholars begin to discover who they are and more importantly, who they can become.  The transition from middle school to high school is a big step in a young person’s life. The Freshman Academy is committed to helping students take the fundamental steps needed for a successful transition while encouraging life-long learning.   Another major component of the Freshman Academy is a guidance counselor and a core of teachers who work solely with the ninth graders, thereby fostering a level of community and teaching practices geared towards the needs of ninth graders. Our goal is to assist incoming ninth graders in adjusting to high school standards, expectations, and routines through a variety of educational and social opportunities.
