Mrs. Allison Graham

Hello, I am Allison Graham the Fashion Club advisor. You can find me in room 120B(Main Campus) and 28(South Campus Annex)! Fashion Club is inspirational and filled with so much creativity from students at our school who truly love fashion, design, modeling, sewing, and makeup.  To me, fashion is art and this club is filled with talented artists! I am passionate about unique handbags, the history of clothing design, metallic gold accessories, and making workwear a fashion moment.

I am a director, costumer, theatrical makeup artist, and Theater Teacher for over a decade and I have a passion for theater! At Perth Amboy I am the Director of the Summer Theater Program which serves students grades 3-12 and I am the Technical Director & Costumer for the Spring Musical... Fashion very much connects to the costuming and makeup side of Theater which I find fascinating because I believe how a character looks can impact the character's performance and the audience's perception of the character. Many Fashion Club members participate in the Spring Musical as costumers, makeup artists, and dressing room assistants.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN FASHION CLUB?

This year we have a Fashion Club Council, Runway Leaders, and opportunities for students to direct, design, and style their own fashion categories in runway shows. Most importantly, we want to inspire our members to find confidence and have the skills to pursue a career in Fashion.

The Fashion Club is a place for students with an interest in popular fashion and high fashion to meet and discuss trends in the industry, learn about clothing care, be taught how to model for runway and editorials, and learn how to run a production as stylists, makeup artists, and event planners.

Goals and Events:

  • Students create different looks that are contemporary, historical, or innovative.

  • Research on the historical foundations and evolution of fashion for runway categories and clothing creation

  • Create clothing and accessories for runway shows

  • Give students opportunities through social media, scholarship programs, modeling agencies, etc.

  • Find Designers or Partnerships where students can model clothing for their personal fashion brands

  • Annual Fashion Showcase

  • Senior Runway Awards: Awarding Seniors who are attending fashion school or have demonstrated excellence in leadership, fashion, design, modeling, or the beauty industry.
