• At Perth Amboy, transition services fall under the Panther L.I.F.E. (Learning Independence For Employment) program.  In these classes, students participate in self-assessments, personal interest inventories, career awareness/exploration/preparation activities, as well as functional math and reading exercises.  An understanding of the world of work and the knowledge and skills needed for traditional and non-traditional jobs and careers are discussed. Students will investigate workplace readiness skills, practice workplace safety, and develop appropriate social-emotional behavior. Activities for inter-dependent daily living skills such as travel training, community service, basic meal preparation, household tasks, shopping, utilizing community resources and physical recreation will be included.  Post-secondary education options such as community college, university, certificate programs and continuing education are also covered.
