Expectations
You are expected to show respect to yourself and others. We create a safe and respectful environment by treating ourselves and others with kindness and understanding. We celebrate our differences and value everyone's unique contributions.
When someone is speaking, we show respect by listening actively and allowing them to finish before responding. This applies to both students and teachers. Everyone deserves to be heard.
Each person brings a different viewpoint, and we learn best when we consider all ideas. Be open-minded and attentive to the perspectives of others, even if they differ from your own.
Mistakes are part of learning. We do not laugh at or criticize anyone for giving a wrong answer. Instead, we support each other and use mistakes as an opportunity to grow.
It's okay to struggle as long as you're trying your best. We are here to learn, and every setback is a step toward understanding. Let's embrace challenges with a positive attitude and keep moving forward together.
You are expected to come to class on time and prepared. If late, you need a pass. If you have missed class unexcused for more than three days, I will write you up for a cut.
Phone Policy
Use of phones is not allowed during class unless otherwise specified for class activities. Your phone must be in the classroom pockets or in your bag when you enter class. If found to be using your phone during class, you will get a warning. If continued use occurs, your phone will go in phone jail until the end of class. On the third infraction, you will be written up.
Late Policy
You are expected to familiarize yourselves with and adhere to due dates in Infinite Campus and on Google Classroom. Our lessons build on each other so if you submit work after it is due, you are not engaging in your learning effectively. Assignments submitted with a blank document will be considered late if resubmitted after the due date. Outlined below is the late policy for this class:
1 minute late: 10 points off
3 days late: 20 points off)
1 week late (7 Days): 50 points off
2 weeks late (14 Days): NOT ACCEPTED
I understand that sometimes circumstances make handing work in on time difficult. If you are having trouble with an assignment, please discuss the situation with me BEFORE it is due and we will work out a plan for you to submit your work in a timely manner.
AI Use Policy
While I recognize the benefits of the use of Artificial Intelligence, it is not acceptable to use for assignments unless I give prior permission. If there is any evidence of use of AI, you will receive a ZERO for that work. Your parents and administrator will be notified concerning your conduct.
Cheating Policy
If there is any evidence of cheating, you will receive a ZERO for that work. Your parents and administrator will be notified concerning your conduct.
Cheating consists of, but is not limited to:
- Copying another students’ work.
- Taking a picture of material to try to use on an exam.
- Having another student complete your work.
Unless I have explicitly said you can work with other students, your work should be your own.
