Coach Dakelman- Head Coach
Rhonda Dakelman has been coaching Track and Field for 20 years at Perth Amboy. She is the throwing specialist and has had several noted athletes who succeeded in the GMC and State Championships. She was selected as GMC Divisional Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2011. She led her team to the White Division Championship in 2001.
Ms. Dakelman was one of the first Track athletes at her high school, Highland Park, when Title IX legislation was first passed. She continued her Track career at Penn State University and graduated in 1980. Her family are also involved in Track and Field as officials.
I have coached track & field for 38 years. My head coaching experience runs from junior high, high school, and college. I was the first Women's Head Track Coach in Wittenberg University's history in the spring of 1979. Besides track & field, I have also coached football at the junior high, high school, and college levels for 16 years. As a graduate assistant defensive line coach, at Wittenberg University, our team was the runner-up at the 1978 D3 National Championships. I have also head coached girl's cross country for 7 years and I am presently an assistant coach for the boy's cross country coach for the 2016-17 season.
