Q: “Why do I have to send it here? Why can’t I send it to Brian Wilson?”
A: Because students produce the show, and they do not check our email.
IN THE SUBJECT LINE PLEASE WRITE THE DATES YOUR ANNOUNCEMENT IS TO AIR, followed by the subject
PLEASE SEND ONLY ONE ANNOUNCEMENT PER EMAIL!
Please stick to the facts only. Below is a great example of an email to send
SUBJECT: Mon. 2/6 – Thu 2/9 – Video Club Meeting
WHO: Video Club Members
WHAT: Video Club Meeting
WHEN : After 8th & 9th Period
WHERE: PATV Studio
WHY: To create an anchor schedule and assign news packages.
HOW: just come by
PLEASE leave it up to us to spice it up.
Include phonetic spelling for hard to pronounce names, otherwise they will be read incorrectly. Don’t send an announcement about how your athlete won this or that only for us to mispronounce their name.
Email your announcement to firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can read it easily and make adjustments to the copy. We do not accept paper submissions.
As you know, we air live Monday-Friday, so please get your announcements in as soon as possible. The news business is all about being under pressure and meeting deadlines, even though I want my students to have this experience I do not want this to become a routine.
